Etihad Cargo is preparing to launch a wide range of new services and products as part of its iCargo digitalisation programme, which was launched just over a year ago. The air freight company – which is a subsidiary of giant Middle-Eastern airline, Etihad Airways – set in motion a full overhaul of its booking operations which combined six Etihad platforms into one - and according to Etihad’s MD of cargo and logistics, Abdulla Mohamed Shadid, there is more to come.
“Our digitalisation roadmap is only in its infancy,” said Shadid.
“The foundations have been laid for a number of exciting projects in coming months, including our new, soon-to-launch Cargo Control Centre, a brand new website and mobile app.”
Over the past year, the iCargo system has successfully handled nearly 500 000 bookings and processed more than 100 000 flights.
