ONE OF the attractions at the Maritime Africa 2000 exhibition in Durban from April 11-14 is certain to be the vessel tracking system (VTS) to be displayed by Marine Data Systems (MDS).
Following the success of the guinea pig status of Cape Town and Saldanha Bay, where the systems were initially installed, Durban, Richards Bay and Port Elizabeth are next in line.
Some 37 exhibitors have already signed up for the event, and enquiries continue to flow in thick and fast, according to the organisers.
The exhibition has been endorsed by The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, the Association of Ships Agents and Brokers of Southern Africa, the South African Maritime Safety Authority, The UK Department of Trade and Industry and the SA Navy.
