ALAN PEAT LOCAL PRESS reports indicate that Mafikeng is looking to establish an industrial development zone (IDZ). This news was relayed by Denver Wright, branch manager for Röhlig Grindrod in Durban and East London, who told FTW that there had been a call for tenders for works – including 6.6-kilometres of bulk pipeline, sub-station buildings and a 5-million litre reservoir. “But,” he said, “the Mafikeng IDZ has not yet been licensed, and so still has a long way to go.”
