Maersk makes it weekly on Middle East, IOI circuit

THE INDIAN Ocean Service (IOS) operated by Maersk Sealand, between the Middle East and SA via the Indian Ocean Islands, has just acquired an upgrade - served by 1 000 TEU container ships since March 31.
In tandem with the Maersk/ Safmarine SAMBA (SA-Middle East-Brazil-Argentine) service, this will provide shippers with
a fixed-day weekly product on the Middle East-SA-Indian Ocean Islands circuit. It also sees Maersk a calls at Madagascar.
The new port rotation for the IOS is: Salalah / Port Reunion / Port Louis / Toamasina / Durban / Toamasina/Port Reunion / Port Louis / Salalah.
Samba, meantime, also calls at the first five ports on this rotation.
