Maersk Logistics joins anti-terror partnership

MAERSK LOGISTICS has become one of the first supply chain operators to be registered under the US government's newly introduced C-TPAT (customs trade partnership against terrorism) initiative. This anti-terrorism scheme has an important role to play when it comes to increasing the overall security level in the global transport segment, according to S¿ren K. Brandt, global m.d.and c.e.o. of Maersk Logistics. "We fully support the C-TPAT initiative," he said, "and look forward to serving our clients as an integral part of a secure supply chain. "Enrolling with the C-TPAT programme is a natural step for us, as we are committed to working with our clients and the US customs to ensure we are conducting operations at the highest security standards." The company - part of the AP Moller Group - employs about 4 300 people in more than 200 offices in over 70 countries.
