MARCH 7 sees the launch by Maersk Line of a new service linking Southern Africa with Namibia, Angola and the Congo.
Operating on a fixed, named-day schedule the 350 teu Arktis Hunter will call at Walvis Bay (Saturdays), Luanda (Wednesdays), Pointe Noire, the Congo (Fridays), Lobito (Sundays) and Luderitz (Wednesdays), operating on a fortnightly basis.
Customers in Mauritius, Reunion and South Africa can tranship cargo in Walvis Bay on Maersk's recently upgraded Europe service.
It is being inaugurated to meet customers' increasing demand for precise and flexible transport in Southern Africa, and also offers unique opportunites for all water services from Luderitz, Maersk line manager marketing, Morten Lund told FTW.
