Containerised exports of

minerals through Mozambican

ports are growing, according to

the acting Mozambican Maersk

manager, Carolyn Kathewera.

“We are handling greater volumes

of transit chrome and manganese

from neighbouring countries, as

well as Mozambican graphite via

Beira,” she says.

Mozambique has also started

to export graphite from mines to

the north of the country, and these

volumes are expected to grow

substantially over the next few years.
