KEVIN MAYHEW THE LOGISTICS Institute of South Africa (LISA) has combined forces with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport: South Africa (CILTSA). CILTSA executive director, Catherine Larkin, said the formation of a single body followed concern about the number of associations and vocational societies that presently exist to serve the logistics and transport sectors in South Africa. “There is often duplication of efforts which results in limited resources being spread thinly. The combined membership under one banner will strengthen CILTSA and make it more dynamic,” she explained. The amalgamation immediately doubled the membership of CILTSA with a significant resource injection and network possibilities as a result.
