MSC and Maersk Line, which jointly operate what MSC calls the Condor service as part of their Asia-Europe network, are to close the service on September 14.
It has a weekly capacity of 9 500 TEUs.
The MSC release said it will be reinstated as a seasonal service given sufficient demand.
Further optimisation of the Asia-Europe network, where capacity supply seriously exceeds demand, is being planned.
