'Lines should review rates on individual customer basis'

WHILE THE ferro alloys industry appreciates that the cost of bunkers has escalated greatly over the last few months, it feels that any increase in freight charges should be viewed on an individual customer basis.
Each shipper has his own arrangements with each of the operators. Thus it is essential that negotiations be conculded in line with the original individual agreements
However, it is suggested by the industry that the starting point for any such negotiations should sit at a bunkers level of US$140/mt.
