The French shipping company, CMA CGM, has announced a US$150 per TEU increase in freight rates from India/Mideast to West Africa effective October 16.
Meanwhile, the Japanese shipping line, MOL, has announced a general rate restoration (GRR) on the Asia (including the Indian sub-continent and the Middle East) to southern Africa route that is to apply to all types of cargo, starting from October 15.
Containerised cargo transported from Asia will be subjected to a rate increase of US$150 per TEU and $300 per FEU.
