Light truck manufacturer adds SA as export destination

The Daimler FUSO FA 9137 model, a light duty truck, will soon be exported into South Africa from India.

As part of its strategy to develop India as a global hub for trucks based on the FUSO platform, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles announced this week that it had added South Africa as its 14th export market.

Exports from the Chennai facility began in May 2013, after Daimler announced a production co-operation between Mitsubishi FUSO Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) and DICV under the umbrella of Daimler Trucks Asia.

The FUSO trucks, made in the company’s production facility in Oragadam outside Chennai, are of both light and medium/heavy category.
