The Civil Aviation Authority regularly holds “road shows” in centres to interact and inform the aviation industry and to present and stimulate debate on upcoming draft regulations. This interaction is critical to the formulation of efficient workable regulations and technical standards. I, and my colleagues, have attended many of these events and have always been surprised, and indeed embarrassed, at not only the relatively low attendance but also the fact that potential delegates advise the CAA of their intention to attend but fail to do so. This is not only discourteous but it also indicates a lack of interest in development. RCH Garbett Professional Aviation Services.
