DESPITE GROWING its client base to include larger importers and exporters, Johannesburg-based Landwave Air & Sea Service continues to find a need and viable market in the small to medium importer and exporter niche. Owner of Landwave, Thabo Hlongwane, says that Landwave’s experience is proving important for growing smaller business in many areas – including accompanying them to look for import possibilities mainly in the East. Landwave has representative agents in the four key areas of its business – Dubai, India, China and South America - so it now provides a door-to-door service for even its smallest clients. From its Johannesburg warehouse it has provided warehouse and dispatch services that have particularly suited smaller importers and exporters because of its extended services. These include releasing products in small quantities as importers can sell them and pay for the rest. “We realise that there is still a need for our traditional service to the smaller company. In fact we have grown our service range to embrace their needs as the clients have grown. This includes assistance with changing legislation in the different countries so that they do not get into trouble with regulations and other factors which larger and more established businesses are aware of,” he explained.
