KINTETSU WORLD Express has been appointed the exclusive airfreight handling agent and forwarder for Agrilink Fresh Produce Marketing, one of South Africa's leading fresh produce exporters.
With its strong position in the year-round mini-pineapple export market, combined with large volumes of mini-vegetables and off-season fruit, Agrilink exported almost 1 800 tons of produce by air to Europe last year.
The partnership with KWE gives Agrilink permanent individual use of KWE's cold storage facilities near Johannesburg International Airport, as well as to the Kintetsu network worldwide.
In turn, KWE now has an effective guarantee of year-round use of its refrigeration facilities.
KWE will take care of all the logistics, including receiving the cargo, arranging PPECB inspections, airline bookings, packing consignments into containers, preparing export documents and delivery to the carrier.
