THE ACQUISITION of US-based logistics service provider USCO Logistics has just been completed by Kuehne & Nagel International, forming a combined operation with more than 17 000 employees in 600 locations in 90 countries.
It also ties together K&N's strong supply-chain management presence in Europe and Asia with USCO's warehouse-based logistics services across the North American region.
The US company focuses on the
pharmaceutical, retail and high-tech industries and has achieved compound annual revenue growth of more than 30% in the last three years.
USCO is to operate as a subsidiary
of the K&N group, allowing it to
offer international multi-modal services through the K&N global logistics network.
The German multi-national, meantime, will benefit from
the availability of nearly 4-million square metres of warehousing and distribution capacity in USCO's North American infrastructure.
