Kenya airport back to 100% capacity

The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi was operating at 100% capacity on Monday following a devastating fire which ground operations to a halt earlier this month. The Kenya Airports Authority posted this latest update on its Facebook page and Twitter feeds as part of a major social media campaign to provide ongoing and immediate feedback. It also noted that a temporary terminal structure would be ready within two months “Works are ongoing to ensure that the quality of services being offered at the airport and its existing facilities are improved. We continue to thank our stakeholders, clients and staff for the great support they have accorded us since the fire,” read the Facebook post. In an interview with Kenya Television Network, KAA managing director, Lucy Mbugua, denied reports that aircraft were experiencing delays due to customs and security checks being stepped up.
