Following the philosophy of filling market niches that most other freight companies prefer to avoid, Ibhayi Freight Services of Port Elizabeth has become one of the province’s biggest movers of household effects in and out of the country. Established five years ago, the company’s household effects division is now used by other freight forwarders and clearing houses which prefer not to provide the service. “Yes, it is often timeconsuming and complex, but we have developed the systems and the people needed to provide the service,” says Kevin Glegg of Ibhayi Freight Services. The company has expanded into vehicles as well. “As in the case of household effects, we are handling many import and export shipments of motor cars for our own customers and agents without a Port Elizabeth office. We recently handled an import shipment of vintage Bentleys for an international Cape Town freight agent,” says Glegg.
