JCCI launches one-week import/export courses

THIS YEAR sees the launch by the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry of a series of intensive one-week import and export management courses.

This alternative structure and format is identical to the 7-week part-time courses which have been running successfully for several years now. The new courses comprise four days of intensive study from Monday to Thursday followed by an examination on the Friday. The content, cost and tutorial facilities are the same in both cases.

The concept has been launched to satisfy requests from importers and exporters all over the country as well as in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi.

With the JCCI's Milpark premises situated a stone's throw from the Milpark Holiday Inn, delegates can be accommodated in walking distance of the training venue.

For Chamber of Commerce members the course costs R1710 including VAT, for non-members R2280.

The first one-week course on import management will be held from February 17-21, with an export management course from June 2-6. A second import course will run from September 15-19 and an export course from November 24-28.

This new venture fulfils a long-felt need by out-of-town importers and exporters for an intensive training programme which offers all the benefits and tutorial facilities of the part-time courses, course presenter Alan Cowell told FTW.
