Introductory shipping workshop to be offered country-wide

A SERIES of one-day introductory shipping workshops developed by the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers will begin a country-wide roll-out this month. Titled “The Business of Shipping”, the workshop is designed to offer a meaningful insight into the maritime logistics supply chain. “It was launched very successfully last year in London and has now been run three times there. Our company has been asked by the local branch of the Institute to run it locally,” says Durban-based A-Cubed Consulting’s Bob King. “The course is particularly valuable for new entrants to the industry and people who are not in the frontline of shipping, yet require some knowledge of the industry - the likes of administrative, secretarial, IT and finance staff,” says King. The VAT inclusive fee (excluding Maputo) is R1 710 per delegate, and this includes a workbook that provides an ongoing reference guide.
