THE INTERNATIONAL Air Transport Association will invest US$2-million (R12m) in air safety initiatives in Africa, director general Giovanni Bisignani announced in Tokyo last week. “Despite our great record on safety, the regional differences that remain are not acceptable,” he said. “We need to concentrate on the areas of greatest need with the appropriate tools."
