The Road Freight Association (RFA) has secured an interesting speaker line-up for its upcoming annual conference at the end of May in George.
One of them is Liesl de Wet, an experienced climate reality leader and sustainability thinker with particular experience in the logistics sector in South Africa.
As chairperson of the association’s Green Transport Working group, De Wet was part of a delegation that went to Europe to engage with industry experts and governments to better understand the role and future of hydrogen as an alternative fuel source for the transport industry, the RFA has said.
“On this trip, they found out how in Germany, solar panels and wind turbines are the norm.
"South Africa has the highest solar radiation levels in the world, yet as a country, solar power is not leveraged as much as it should be."
The conference will be held at Fancourt from 26-28 May.
