Walvis Bay is our preferred
port to Zambia and the
Democratic Republic of Congo
(DRC) because of the one border
stop into Zambia
for imports
and exports of
refrigerated
cargo, containers
and breakbulk,
according to
Jakkie van der
Walt, manager
of Swakopmundbased
A van der
Walt Transport.
Large volumes
are expected to come through the
port of Walvis Bay because of port
expansion.
“We believe we are in the right
place at the right time,” he says.
A van der Walt Transport
(Namibia), a fully Namibian-owned
company with its head office in
Swakopmund and branch offices
in Walvis Bay and
Okahandja, was
founded in 1986.
The focus is on
the distribution
of refrigerated,
containerised and
breakbulk cargo
throughout the
SADC region.
In 2012
the company
expanded the
fleet to include chemical tankers
for transporting various types
of chemicals from Walvis Bay to
different uranium mines within
Namibia.
INSERT & CAPTION
We believe we are in the
right place at the right
time.
