The Hong Kong Trade
Development Council has
formally been invited to
bring a trade delegation to
Cape Town.
This is part of an ongoing
attempt by Western Cape
officials to grow trade with
the Far East.
Premier Helen Zille, who
recently led a provincial trade
delegation to Hong Kong
and Shanghai, said that the
invitation had been accepted.
It is not yet known when the
visit will take place.
Zille said wine was a major
attraction for Hong Kong
which has doubled its wine
imports from the province
year-on-year.
“Other sectors we
are focusing on include
renewable energy, property
investment and business
chambers,” a spokesman for
Zille said.
