Two trucks were hijacked after midnight, and a mentally disturbed person without any clothes on and pelting traffic with stones, were reported in Kwa-Zulu Natal on the N3 early this morning.
According to the Federation of East and Southern African Road Transport Associations (Fesarta), the trucks were hijacked before 1am.
The first, a Scania, was hijacked between Hilton and Curry’s Post and was later recovered in Estcourt.
Not long thereafter an Isuzu UD4 was taken outside Pietermaritzburg after two suspects jumped on the back of the truck before disconnecting air cabling, also known as “suzi pipes”.
The Isuzu was later recovered in Hilton.
As for the “naked mad person” in the Tugela area, Fesarta said authorities were attending to the scene.
