Freight forwarder Heneways held a double celebration last week when it held its 21st anniversary and received its ISO 9002 rating from international certification agency Dekra.

Joint m.d. and company founder Pat Henegan said at the ceremony that the company had grown from a small operation to a company with over 120 employees.

In our first year of business we had a turnover of just R3m. Last year our turnover was more than R500m, he said.

Joint m.d. John Buchel, who received the ISO certificate from Dekra m.d. Horst Lammermeyr, said the award was a testimony to the dedication of the company's staff.

The dedication and commitment to service by our staff is what achieved this for us, he said.

Buchel said the ISO certification was necessary as clients demanded it. He said without it it would become increasingly difficult to win new clients and keep old ones.
