Has CMA CGM just ordered 6 more ships?

According to several maritime media reports, Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) has won an order from French shipping line, CMA CGM, to build six 14 000-TEU ships.

The deal was reportedly confirmed to Lloyd’s List by the company’s spokesperson but the company did not reply to emails sent by other media, including World Maritime News, seeking confirmation.

According to Splash 247.com, the order is a big win for HHI as it is a long way short of hitting its annual sales target. Expected delivery of the ships is slated for early 2017.
