ALAN PEAT TWO NEW countries have joined the list of states with which SA has signed generalised system of preferences (GSP) agreements. Russia and Turkey are to offer this import duty-reducing system some time later this year. The SA Revenue Service (Sars) has confirmed that the implementation date is December 1, and that they are issuing the appropriate certificates of origin to those exporters wishing to take advantage of GSP.
