West Africa holds significant growth potential in the bulk liquid sector – particularly for the use of ISO tanks. This is according to Kreason Pillay, managing director Africa, India and the Middle East for M&S Logistics, who said that while there were still challenges in getting customers to move away from old, inefficient models of handling liquids, there was increasing recognition of the benefits of using ISO tanks. “There are challenges around the shortage of handling facilities in some of the regions in West Africa, but we believe there is a growing move to more cost-efficient models such as ISO tanks,” he said. “We have been successful in rolling out bulk ISO tank models to customers in the West African region for some time now.” He said within the region there had been a drive to look for better solutions and ISO tanks – which are able to transport liquids, gases and powders as bulk cargo – offered that.
