Green logistics gaining prominence

The recent World Bank Survey of global logistics performance for the first time includes environmental indicators, and found that green logistics was quickly gaining prominence in high-income and emerging economies – a positive development since logistics and freight-related activities may account for up to 15% of human carbon dioxide emissions. Large logistics providers like DHL, FedEx, UPS and TNT all now have global initiatives to reduce their carbon footprint and help clients become more greenfriendly.
