An environmental study
has given the green
light to the upgrading
and tarring of the road
from Ponta do Ouro
on the border between
Mozambique and
KwaZulu-Natal.
A 63-kilometre link
road from the Bela
Vista area to Boane
district is intended to
provide direct access
to the port of Matola
and the city’s industrial
area, without having to
cross the increasingly
congested roads of the
capital itself.
The project covers a
total of 187 kilometres
of road.
Construction is due to
start this year and run
through to 2015.
