German-owned shipping line, Hapag-Lloyd, has concluded the first half of the year with a significantly higher operating result than in the same period of the previous year as its earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) increased to EUR 389 million, compared to the 91 million it recorded during the first half of 2018.
“Thanks to higher transport volumes in our core trades, good cost control and slightly better freight rates, we can look back on a good first half year,” said CEO Rolf Habben Jansen.
