JIA equipment contract
A GERMAN materials handling and lifting systems company has been awarded the R5,5 million contract to supply lifting equipment for an aircraft maintenance dock to be installed at Johannesburg International Airport.
Pfaff-silberblau, which is planning to establish its own factory in this country next year, will supply lifting jacks, lifting columns and scissor lifting tables, collectively weighing 50 tons. The equipment is scheduled to arrive in South Africa during the first week of August.
The docking bay will be used to service wide-bodied aircraft and will be ready for operations by mid-September this year.
