JAMES HALL, FTW's Swaziland correspondent since 2000, was awarded a Siemens Profile Award for journalistic excellence, presented in association with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research on February 13 at a ceremony held at Vodacom's Vodadome in Midrand. The judges considered Hall's FTW work, especially articles on the application of new technology in the transport sector and road infrastructure development. He won R10 000, a Siemens cell phone and other goodies. "There is more to covering the African scene than conflict and disaster," Hall said. "Business writing offers its own challenges and rewards."
