WOULD YOU like
us to change the
mix of FTW?
That is the question after
considering the results of a survey
conducted this month which showed
that the sailing schedule information
is of critical importance to many
readers.
Known as the Easifinder, the
four page pull-out section currently
reflects a window of sailing for a two
week period. The majority of the
readers surveyed – made up equally
of importers, exporters and freight
forwarders – wanted to know the
dates for inbound and outbound
voyages for double that period.
That means double the space and
raises a couple of issues on which we
need your input:
● If we produce an eight-page
Easifinder what are your views on the
idea of a fold-out chart that could
be pinned up on a wall i.e. A2 size
which is the equivalent of four A4
pages together?
● If we dedicate eight pages
to schedules we would need to cut
down on our editorial stories. Which
is more important to you?
● An option is to reduce
the print size to what is the norm
in most magazines which would
effectively mean a negligible
reduction in the number of articles.
This article has been set in that
reduced size as a sample so that you
can judge for yourself.
