French flights diverted due to bomb threats

Two Air France flights en route from the US to Paris were diverted following anonymous bomb threats yesterday.

Flight AF65, an Airbus A380 that departed from Los Angeles carrying 497 passengers and crew landed in Salt Lake City, according to a Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) spokesman.

Flight AF55 was from Washington’s Dulles Airport, with 262 passengers and crew on board, and was diverted to Halifax Airport in Nova Scotia.

The passengers were evacuated from both planes and taken to safety. No bombs had been reported found by 17:00 hrs yesterday.
