Emirates SkyCargo recorded a decline in revenue and a marginal increase in tonnage carried, according to the Group’s 2016-17 Annual Report released today.
Revenue was down 5% to $2.9 billion while air freight volumes were up 3% to reach 2.6 million tonnes.
Revenue per freight tonne kilometre (FTKM) fell by 8%.
The results for the 2016/17 financial year reflected the “strong downward trend across the industry”, a spokesman said.
The fleet remained unchanged – at 15 aircraft – despite the launch of new freighter services to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, as well as additional links between Dubai-Oslo and Delhi-Hong Kong.
The cargo transport division contributed 13% of the airline’s total revenue for the period under review.
