Kevin Mayhew THE PRESSURE to provide services via Walvis Bay has prompted Lusaka-based Freight Logistics to open an office at Katima Mulilo which now boasts a new bridge to provide greater access to the West African port. Managing director, Samson Nyirenda, says that the company is willing to give the improved outlet a chance to see how it performs. “Walvis is attractive because of the reduced travel times. We are constantly expanding our services to absorb new developments and in many cases are driven by requests by our clients,” he says. Freight Logistics handles general freight via land, sea and air and has been operating for 17 years. The Katima Mulilo office will increase its presence in a region where it already has staff at Livingstone, Kasumbalesa, Nakonde, Mwami, Chirundu, Kazangula and Mpulungu. “My feeling right now is that there is potential for Zambia to grow as a country and our industry along with it,” he concludes.
