Food and beverage industry sets high service standards

Attention to detail and hands-on
management are two of the
reasons for the continued growth
in the food and beverage division of
a.hartrodt.
According to Grant Barnard, Cape
Town branch manager, since the
opening of this division in 2006 there’s
been significant growth.
“We believe it is the principles of
service and accountability as well as
our business philosophy and attention
to detail that continue to ensure this.”
According to Barnard it made
business sense to establish Food &
Beverage Logistics South Africa,
a division of the a.hartrodt group,
handling cargo from this segment of the
market in Cape Town.
“For centuries the production and
shipment to international markets of
fresh produce, together with associated
commodities such as fruit concentrates,
canned goods, rooibos tea, spices and
wine has been of particular importance
to the Western Cape.”
a.hartrodt South Africa has been
involved with forwarding cargo into
South Africa since early last century.
“With more than 30 dedicated food
and beverage logistics offices, backed
up by the world-wide network of the
a.hartrodt group of companies, our
food and beverage logistics divisions
are able to offer all aspects of the
logistic chain between the seller and
the buyer of food and beverage related
products,” said Barnard. “Close client
relationships and local hands-on
know-how has always been one of our
fundamental objectives.
“Working with reliable carriers in
combination with a state-of-the-art
order-control and tracking and tracing
system, we fully supply the demands
set by this industry.”
