Demand for modern professionally managed fuel delivery services is growing as the authorities in Mozambique and neighbouring countries clamp down on unsafe vehicles says Chris Morris, managing director of Specialized Transport, which is based in Beira.
The company is adding five more units to its fleet of 30 tankers.
“There is no more room in the market for fly-by-night operators as both the authorities and the fuel companies are implementing new standards,” he says. There has been a positive spinoff for the other services offered by the company, as the standards for the transport of fuel have been applied throughout the operation. “We are expanding our low-bed fleet to cater for increased crossborder loads,” he says.
New tippers will be added to the fleet in the new year. The existing fleet has just been refurbished after the completion of a project for which Specialized provided the vehicles and logistics support.
“All the tippers now have new and stronger doors and have been repainted in preparation for the next project,” he says.
