FedEx expands local express network

FEDERAL EXPRESS and Rennies Foreign Exchange are expanding their strategic alliance to offer an express package service from major shopping malls to destinations throughout the world. Eastgate, Alberton, Balfour Park, Centurion, Fourways Mall, Killarney, Randburg, Rosebank Firs and Menlyn follow the successful prototype operation at Sandton City, launched in December. "There is natural synergy between the buyer of foreign exchange - with business or family contacts overseas - and the sender of urgent and important packages overseas," says Sameer Wadhwa, marketing manager of FedEx. "This initiative combines the FedEx global reach with the comprehensive local network of Rennies Foreign Exchange." "The service has been welcomed by tourists to South Africa as well as visitors attending conferences," says Craig MacFarlane, general manager of Rennies Foreign Exchange.
