Consolidation service brings volume discounts to smaller airfreight users

THE BENEFIT of volume discounts for express and overnight domestic airfreight is no longer the preserve of high volume customers.
Following the recent launch of Air Care Cargo’s airfreight consolidation service, all companies can achieve savings, according to ACC’s Paul Volck.
“Our customers are mainly couriers and freight forwarders,” says Volck.
“We enable them to lodge freight directly with the respective airline for same day parcels, and we consolidate overnight cargo into containers at our in-house handling facility. This is then moved on freighter aircraft.”
Volck believes that the competitive rate advantage that ACC is able to offer makes the service attractive to domestic courier companies.
The company has in-house facilities at all major airports in South Africa.
“It is also a viable option for international companies who can use these facilities for forwarding cargo to other regions, which is where we have found another lucrative niche.”
