Express Association sets up KZN branch

KWAZULU NATAL’S express freight and courier industry has formed its own chapter of the South African Express Parcel Association (SAEPA). It will serve the interests of users and service providers in the province, meeting every six weeks in the boardroom of the cargo section at Durban International Airport. “Accounting for 11% of total air cargo worldwide, express and courier traffic grew at more than twice the total rate, averaging 16.4% annually in the last decade,” Gary Weber of Churchills International, the newly-elected director, told FTW. “The size of a typical express shipment grew from 2.7kg to 4.0kg in the same period.”
