ExelCampus launches on-line training

THE INTERNATIONAL forwarder, Exel - a global leader in supply chain solutions - has just launched an on-line learning programme, ExelCampus, for its 55 000 staff around the world. "This will provide just-in-time learning to all our employees to assist them in learning new, and updating their existing, skills," said London-based e-learning manager, Bryan Krafchick The courses, he told FTW, are designed around core subject areas including business development, effective management, and Exel's service offering across several industry sectors and the entire supply chain. "The last of these is being concentrated on as a key area of learning to enhance the value of our services to our clients," said Krafchick. "The value of the PC-based programme is that it allows employees to do their training as, when and where it suits them and adjust their learning speed to their capabilities." The ExelCampus system is also being included in some of the company's in-house education programmes. "It allows people on training programmes to take some courses from their desktops." It was designed as an answer to the learning requirements of the staff, and Krafchik accentuated that "the instantaneous nature of e-learning suits the just-in-time learning needs".
