Local fruit producer ZZ2 will be exporting mangoes to Europe for the first time in years as the export market from South Africa slowly opens up again.
Online industry news site, FreshPlaza.com, quoted ZZ2’s Clive Garrett as saying that South Africa had lost market share when the South American countries started growing mangoes.
ZZ2 will export around 100 tonnes of the Kent and Keitt mango varieties to Europe this season.
