Etihad Cargo launches real-time cargo tracking app

As part of efforts to expand its digital portfolio, Etihad Cargo on Tuesday launched the first version of its mobile tracking application which will offer customers the capacity to track their shipment through its entire journey.

According to a statement by the Middle Eastern airline, the app will provide a host of built-in features that will improve and ease the customer’s experience.

“In addition to real-time tracking, the app also boasts a feature for opt-in push notifications, providing customers with instant alerts to any-time-anywhere updates on shipment milestones, including received; departed; arrived; notification for delivery; and delivered,” it said.

Additionally, head of technology at Etihad Cargo, Rory Fidler said that the app will allow customers access to all the necessary information regarding their shipment at the touch of a button.

“This customer-friendly mobile app is yet another major development in our journey to become a leading innovative and digitised air cargo carrier. The app provides our customers with access to information at their fingertips whether at the office or on the go, when and where they need it most,” he said.

The app is available to download from both Apple’s App Store and the Google Play store, and will feature flights statuses, route searches, portfolios of specialised product services, the latest news, and contact information of key personnel at Etihad Cargo.

Future versions of the app are set to roll-out in 2021, and will include instant mobile eBookings. – Bjorn Vorster
