Pictured above is one of two engines from a workboat that sank off Angola and was subsequently salvaged. It has been stripped by ship power supplier Wartsila Cape Town and is currently being packed by Cape Crating onto a transport skid. “It will be foil-wrapped and secured on a flatrack for reassembly and testing in H olland before being transported to Dubai,” Cape Crating’s Owen Bottomley told FTW. “It currently weighs 25t plus the 1.1t skid/cradle – the assembled motor was 109t.”
