IN ITS move towards black economic empowerment (BEE), the information technology (IT) services company eFreight has announced a transaction with an empowerment consortium led by the J&J Group and Dr Stephen Mncube. J&J is a strategic investment and management company, with Jay Naidoo as group chairman, and Mncube is a businessman and chairman of Sentech and eFreight, according to Gus Klohn, MD of eFreight. In terms of the deal, he told FTW, the J&J Consortium will acquire 30% of eFreight. It is important in growing the company, Klohn added. “As part of the transaction, eFreight will draw on the strengths and capabilities of our new partners to deliver competitive, value-added products and services to the public and private sectors of the African supply chain market.”
