EGL GLOBAL Logistics is spreading its wings.
Last week saw the opening of an office in Port Elizabeth headed up by Helena Burger.
She joins EGL from Shatterprufe where she was export sales co-ordinator, having previously worked as a key account manager for Renfreight SA in PE.
ÒShe brings to the position the balanced perspective of service provider and shipper,Ó says EGL m.d. Pam Cornish who is keen to see the current client base in the city expanded.
Also identified as a key growth area is the Durban/Richards Bay region. Regional manager Kwazulu Natal, Rob Nethercott, has extended his focus to Richards Bay.
After starting in the freight industry in 1978 as a management trainee with Freight Services, Nethercott gained operational and sales experience both in South Africa and abroad. Known, by his own admission, as a maverick in the industry, heÕs a specialist in ocean procedures, supply chain management and projects.
He is supported by sales district manager Cheryl Rajzowicz.
