THE LATEST predictions from the Standard Bank show the rand continuing its downward trend against all the major currencies throughout 2001.
According to the figures released to FTW by Standard trade economist, Goolam Ballim, the rand will decline against the US dollar by another 2.7% before year end; by -1.6% against the British pound; by -2.8% against the Euro; and by -3.4% against the Japanese yen.
